Frequent Questions
At what age can my child start school?
From 1 year. In addition, we have a childcare service to help those parents who for work reasons have to leave their children at school before or after the school day begins or ends (9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.)
Is Fontenebro International School a Bilingual o British School?
Fontenebro International School is a school with a bilingual project, which means that it has a significant teaching load entirely in English but following the international and Spanish study program. This allows the student to acquire a high level of English without this posing a problem to access a Spanish university.
In the classes of 1 and 2 years the study load is 100%. From 3 years the study load is 60%
Fontenebro International School belongs to the British international group ISP (International Schools Partnership).
Are there extracurricular activities?
Yes, the school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities after the school day from the age of 4, with a transport service after them.
How is the adaptation period in the infant stage?
Regarding the adaptation period, we adapt to the rhythm and needs of each child. We do not have a defined adaptation period. The period will be the one that each child needs.
From the first day the schedule will be from 9:00 to 17:00, although the first few days if you consider it necessary you can pick him up earlier and agree with the tailor-made tutor.
The first day they all come at the usual time so that we can assess how the day has gone and then you will adjust it with the tutor, only in those cases in which we observe that your child needs to incorporate in another way. We will always adapt to the needs of your child.
We create a caring environment: children begin to feel better and understand what is new on the third or fourth day of attending school. It is from that moment on that they realize that the separation is not definitive and the teacher gradually becomes a new attachment figure.
Although it is still difficult for them to separate from the family, they begin to spend the day calmer and safer, and begin to play and become familiar with the new environment.
The separation: The period in which children cry when separated from their family can vary greatly from one child to another. For this to be shortened, it is very important that parents are calm when saying goodbye, that they say goodbye to them (never leave them playing and “run away” when they are distracted) and, above all, shorten the time of goodbye. Parents should keep in mind that, when the first few days have passed, the children no longer cry all the time, now they spend the whole day playing and the crying time is reduced to the time that the separation lasts. If this is short and we leave immediately, we reduce the time of discomfort of the little ones.
